The Burbank Community Band presents Milestones of Freedom, a free live concert in Burbank on April 11, 2026 at Dolores Huerta Middle School in Burbank. This special performance celebrates music, history, and community, featuring guest soprano Abiodun Koya and a program honoring milestones of freedom and resilience.

Abiodun Koya has performed at The White House, Madison Square Garden, for U.S. Presidents, and world leaders.  Her extraordinary voice brings global artistry to this milestone celebration.

A Community ART SHOW – Local artists from California Creative Arts will present a courtyard art market during the concert, adding a vibrant visual arts experience to the afternoon’s celebration of music and community. The art show opens at 1 pm so you have time browse before the concert begins.

A book of poetry – In addition to sharing her voice on stage, Ms. Koya is also a published poet. Her collection features 30 original poems inspired by real-life experiences.

The Burbank Community Band presents five free concerts every year, offering a wide range of music for a variety of tastes and ages. From seasonal favorites and timeless classics to original compositions, our performances are a celebration of community and creativity.
