Spring Concert - "Milestones of Freedom"
The Burbank Community Band’s annual Spring Concert is our biggest performance of the year—and always features a unique theme.
This special spring concert commemorates important steps towards freedom in American history, from the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence through the Civil Rights movement and up to the present day, and also pays homage to the 175th anniversary of California’s statehood. Through music that chronicles the gradual expansion of freedom — from early American melodies to modern works inspired by our national and state journeys — Milestones of Freedom reflects on pivotal moments in American history that defined freedom in many forms. This program celebrates the courage and struggles required to achieve freedom and the enduring belief in a hopeful future, inviting our community to connect through history, heart, and music.
